James F. Scales

Jim received a bachelor of science degree from Michigan State University and a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. His law practice over the last 24 years has involved him in real estate, construction, estate planning, and property taxation matters. Jim also has extensive experience in municipal law, zoning, utilities, and related issues. He has earned the Certificate of Completion for ICLE’s Probate and Estate Planning Program.

In addition to his law practice, Jim has been actively involved in many civic and service organizations. He currently serves on the City of Rockford Planning Commission and the Rockford Education Foundation.
