Scott S. Brinkmeyer has focused his law practice since 1975 in various areas of litigation, dispute resolution and facilitation. He has represented major corporations, small businesses and individuals in lawsuits in federal and state courts throughout the State of Michigan. Scott is also a certified mediator in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, a certified civil neutral arbitrator on the national panel of the American Arbitration Association, a trained and a court approved mediator in various state circuit courts. He is the past president of the State Bar of Michigan, former chair of the Executive Committee of the State Bar Board of Commissioners and the past chair of the State Bar Representative Assembly. He is a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation, the American Bar Association Foundation and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. Scott serves as a member of the State Bar Litigation, Negligence Law, ADR and Real Estate sections, and is a member of Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, as well as the Grand Rapids and American Bar Associations. Scott received his B.A. degree from DePauw University in 1971, and graduated in 1975 from Saint Louis University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Law Journal. He also worked as a judicial law clerk for the Missouri Court of Appeals before joining the firm.
